College of Charleston students are invited to come run in the annual “Paws in the Park” run/walk Nov. 16 at Riverfront Park in N. Charleston to help raise money for abused, abandoned and hungry animals in the local community.
Sponsored by the Charleston Animal Society, the annual walk and 5k run begins at 9 a.m. and will be followed by a festival featuring great music, food, beer, oysters, pet vendors and a kid zone until 2 p.m.
All of the money raised will benefit Charleston Animal Society’s “Toby’s Fund,” a medical fund for abused and injured animals.
“Our goal is to make this the largest pet walk in South Carolina history,” said Charleston Animal Society president and CEO Joe Elmore.
Any CofC student who signs up using the code “Cougars” at checkout will only pay $10 to enter the walk or run (instead of the usual $45).
Just go to www.charlestonAnimalSociety.org/petwalk to sign up as an individual or with a team!
