There are many great colleges on the East Coast, but CofC is the ultimate best college to attend.
Founded in 1770, The College is the oldest college south of Virginia, and its campus is definitely filled with classic Southern charm.
But in case that isn’t enough, here are nine reasons why College of Charleston is the ultimate best place to get your degree.

Who doesn’t love being able to hit the beach after class on a beautiful day?

The campus is located in the heart of downtown, so it just feels like you’re on vacation all the time.
With Magnolia and Dogwood trees everywhere, plus large Oaks with Spanish Moss, you feel like you’re in a magical forest.
4. Guaranteed fabulous nightlife
Want to dress up to the nines and go to a fancy bar?
We have it.
Want to dress in a flannel and still go out?
We have those bars too.
7. Odd weather = canceled class
When it rains, it pours, so it’s likely your classes will be canceled when downtown floods more than its usual amount.
And if they are not canceled, you can always kayak to class.
