Top 5 things to do while in Nantucket

Nantucket is a small island in Massachusetts that is the perfect summer destination for everyone, including college students.

No matter where you live, it is easily accessible by plane, car or ferry.

The island is full of dune beaches, clear water and a downtown lined with cobblestoned streets.

And the unique architecture of Nantucket gives the island a cozy feel with unpainted cedar-shingled buildings and only a few necessary chain stores allowed on the island.

With all this goodness, it is impossible not to embrace the Nantucket culture and want to explore all it has to offer.

1) Nobadeer Beach

Nobadeer is a long strip of beach on the south shore that faces the Atlantic Ocean.

There are large waves and stronger currents that are perfect for surfing, body boarding or just cooling off in the water.

Pack your car full with all the day’s supplies and don’t worry about carrying it.

Drive right onto the beach but don’t forget to let some air out of the tires so you won’t get stuck.

2) Cisco Brewers

Cisco Brewers,a brewery, distillery and winery, is one of the only breweries on the island and has a long history since it was established in the 1980s.

While at Cisco Brewers, you can enjoy live music, tastings and tours with a welcoming and friendly environment.

The brewery even produces some world-class wines, beers and spirits.

3) The Club Car

The Club Car is a high-end American restaurant attached to a retrofitted old railway car.

At night the railway car turns into a fun and lively piano bar serving all types of cocktails, beers and spirits.

Inside the railway car is a unique experience with a variety of songs playing to all hours of the night.

4) The Juice Bar

After a long hot day of relaxing on the beach there is no better way to cool of than homemade ice cream and waffle cones at The Juice Bar.

Located downtown, the sweet aroma coming out of the store is hard to miss.

With lines around the block, it is no secret to locals and tourists alike this is the go-to place.

Don’t get discouraged by the line because the wait is worth it.

5) Millie’s

Removed from the downtown area Millie’s is a restaurant by Madaket beach and known by the locals as “Madaket Millie’s”.

Millie’s casual and relaxed environment is the perfect place to go for groups of all sizes and ages.
