Although “Birdman: Or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)” was indeed one of this year’s best films, the time, effort and craft that went into making Richard Linklater’s “Boyhood” should have earned the film an Oscar for “Best Motion Picture” by a wide margin.
